Botanical Garden was built in 1817 with its area 87 Ha by its initiator Prof. Dr. Reinwadt, a botanical professor from Germany.Botanical Garden's collection consist of tropical flora more than 20.000 varieties and 6.000 species.
The number of trees in the Botanical Gardens this makes the air cool and rich in oxygen. There are over 17,000 species including the rare species of orchids. The trees that are here not only bersal of the country but many of them coming from foreign countries. Its always interesting to watch is when the growing carrion flower (Rafflesia Arnoldi). This flower is unique because of a large size and when flowering will release the stench of so called carrion flower.
Here we can see the calming green area which we rarely encounter in the big cities.
